What Is 303 Indigenous Productions?

Through digital media, our project spreads ideas and shifts behaviors—empowering Native youth to find joy, balance, and purpose.

We provide a pathway for urban Native youth to reconnect with and strengthen their connection to their cultural roots while exploring issues that influence their future.

A glimpse into 303 Indigenous Productions

How can filmmaking be used to reclaim Native cultural narratives?

Step 1:

We partnered with the Denver Indian Family Resource Center to recruit participants from its Native youth program.

Step 2:

Native youth living in metro Denver were encouraged to apply to gain experience in filmmaking—producing, acting, scripting, set and costume design, hair and makeup, music supervision, and more—and create a healing and inspiring short film.

Step 3:

303 Indigenous Productions officially began in March 2025 with a five-day interactive workshop. During the workshop, our youth producers were provided with Native perspectives on different life circumstances. They used this knowledge to collaborate with our executive producers to develop a social marketing concept for a film designed to change the attitudes and behaviors of their peers.

Step 4:

We shot the film with a professional film crew in May 2025. The youth producers also used this time to brainstorm the official name of their campaign, 303 Indigenous Productions, and create a logo.

Step 5:

Following the world premiere of Concrete Warriors, we launched this website and social channels to share messages and videos created by Native youth for Native youth.

Our project has resulted in one short film made in partnership with the Denver Indian Family Resource Center. We are not looking for additional partners at this time.

303 Indigenous Productions is a project of the Colorado Division of Child Support Services, funded through the federal Office of Child Support Services, Charting a Course for Economic Mobility and Responsible Parenting grant.
